FIREHOUSE CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

After a devastating fire struck the firehouse in July 2019, the Tivoli Fire Company rallied, recovered, and rebuilt. The Company committed to pursuing a capital campaign to finally enlarge the firehouse in order to meet our current requirements and those of the decades ahead.

DREAM IT.

The Firehouse expansion has been designed by the esteemed local architectural firm PSA Studios. It thoughtfully conforms to the architectural character of Tivoli’s Historic District. The design expands the existing building to the west, adding two more engine bays and a second story.

EXPAND IT.

It will add 2 additional bays, offices and command center, showers and bunkroom, a small museum space, and be able to serve as an Emergency shelter for our community which will meet Red Cross Emergency Shelter standards.

Support for this new expansion will be directed to the capital campaign with the Tivoli Fire Company, the non-profit organization for the fire department. Gifts from individual donors, family foundations and local and corporate business are all welcome and essential to grow this capital campaign. Together we can build upon this 100-year legacy to grow and sustain these crucial volunteer services for the Fire Department.

How the Expansion aids Tivoli

MODERNIZATION & PARTNERSHIPS

This first floor addition will create multiple spaces to support the overall fire department including: storage of the full engine company fleet comprised of 2 fire engines, 1 ambulance, 1 boat, 1 special response trailer, & 1 light duty utility vehicle. This floor will also house the essential expanded storage space to create a safer workplace for our firefighters and EMTs; brand new addition of a Red Cross Emergency Shelter that will include showers, HVAC systems and supportive operations to sustain and grow the on-going mutual aid services of this fire department.

Grow the Community

The expansion will include a multi-purpose space for community activities and firehouse events that include some of the most celebrated annual gatherings-- the Pancake Breakfast and Winterfest. This will also feature a Fire Department Museum area dedicated to the historical apparatus vehicles along with archival pieces of equipment and photography to celebrate the 100 year legacy of emergency response work.

Support the Firefighters

The second floor of the expansion will consist of a new sleeping area to include bunk rooms for the members, 3 offices, bathrooms and a conference room/command center. The department will now have a quiet and comfortable place to rest rather than on concrete floors or in the fire trucks in between responses.
